Clothing Haul: Topshop, New Look and Primark

I think it's fair to say that yesterday was definitely a spendy kind of day. With a holiday coming up I decided that it was time to grab a few bits for myself and that could only be achieved by a good old wander up the high street!

First off, I stopped into New Look, primarily because I needed yet more pairs of leggings (the struggle is real). The selection in there at the moment is fab, I found quite a few gorgeous pieces, however I have to admit that their selection of sizes is less than desirable and the majority of things I looked at were only in sizes 10 or 12 upwards. But I did find this gorgeous pair of baggy black shorts for £12.99, and these will be perfect for dressing up or down in the sun.

It doesn't happen very often, but I managed to find some things that I actually like in Primark! Hurrah! I picked up this open backed grey slogan t-shirt for £5, the tiny denim shorts for £3.90, this gorgeous patterned play suit for £7 and printed shorts for £4. Everything together came to under £20 so all in all a very successful visit.

And finally, I had to pop into the Topshop sale. I picked these two cropped tops up for five and six pounds and will be perfect for putting with little shorts while on holiday. I also spotted this incredible yellow raincoat while I was in there, and although not in the sale, I just couldn't leave it there. Definitely £55 well invested!

What have you picked up lately?

How to: Plaited Hair Crown

We all love a good flower crown, especially with the sun coming out and the festival scene waking up again. But if you're looking for a different take on the flowery summer essential then why not try putting together one of these plaited scarf crowns?

Really simple, alls you need is 3 square scarves. The three I have here are all vintage, the red one and the brown one were my Nana's and the green one is a knot wrap that I picked up at my local Lush store. Try to find 3 scarves that are all the same size to make the whole process easier, but don't worry about co-ordinating designs and colours, it's quite exciting when they are a bit mix and match!

Start by tying the scarves together by knotting them at one corner, like so...

Then, begin plaiting. Cross the outside scarf over the centre scarf so that it becomes the new middle scarf, repeat over and over swapping sides as you go! (It looks good to keep the plait quite tight at this point.)

Next, when you have plaited as far down the scarves as they allow you to, you need to untie the original knot at the top of the scarves- making sure that the plait doesn't unravel in the process.

Create a ring with the scarves (it's starting to resemble a hair accessory now) and tie the ends together (I repeat, tie all 6 ends together in one large knot).

You may find that you have edges and odd corners sticking out throughout the plait, these can be easily hidden just by tucking them away into the braid itself.

And there you are! One completely original unique vintage scarf hair crown!

Stages You Go Through On Your Period (That Your Boyfriend Doesn'tUnderstand)

We've all been there, you've just come on, you're hormonal, you want to eat the world and everything just feels a bit shit. You deal with this every month and providing you lock yourself away from anyone you might upset on the day when you're at your hormonal worst, you will recover. However, as I recently realised, PMS can actually send your boyfriend reeling in confusion and cluelessness. I documented the stages that Tom had to put up with in my most recent bout of 'mega cow, super bitch' and here's what I came up with.

Number 1: 'the shitty and snappy stage'- This usually involves aggressive  texts, or some form of social media. Sarcasm, although not a skill usually possessed, suddenly becomes an art form that you have down to a T. When like this no one can do anything right, nothing will ever be good enough and you take all of your frustrations out on the person most accessible at the time.

Number 2: 'the could murder anyone stage'- Developing on from nothing being quite enough, this stage involves feeling pissed off at the whole world and everyone in it. Beware!

Number 3: 'the crying at everything stage'- After feeling annoyed at everyone within a 6 mile radius, crying normally ensues. This could be at an emotional advert featuring small fury animals, not being able to find a matching sock, crying over cold bath water etc...

Number 4: 'the soppy over emotional stage'- This involves confessions of undying love and lots of apologies from any comments made in the shitty snappy stage. To enter this stage you just need to give yourself a good slap back into reality and realise that crying over slightly burned toast will not get you anywhere.

Number 5: 'I need so many carbs stage'- Triggered by searching #foodporn on Instagram, it is a complete certainty that you will consume your own body weight in bread, pasta and probably lots of chocolate or chocolate based products. Sometimes a girl just got to eat those feelings.

Number 6: 'I'm so fat, you won't love me when I'm really fat stage'- Usually following the consumption of large amounts of carbs during the 'I need so many carbs' stage, the guilt of having eaten large amounts of food suddenly becomes very apparent. Once again, this stage usually involves emotionally texting your fella and unleashing 20 years of insecurities on him in under 200 characters.

Number 7: 'the crying it out stage'- You've made it this far and you still feel like shit, so you're allowed to now just go the whole hog. The 'crying it out' stage is a necessary part of picking yourself up and sorting yourself out. It could last 20 minutes, 4 hours or a week, who knows? But this is your opportunity to let everything out totally unrestricted. Often you just need to watch a really sad film to allow you to just cry it all out of your system, this is a more developed emotional state than that seen at stage 3, however is also one of the most important. Probably best to just not talk to anyone during this one, breathe and cry. Breathe and cry.

Inside My Breakfast Graze Box

Graze box delivery day is always a good day! Over the weekend I found this beauty had arrived in my post box. For anyone who doesn't know, Graze is a subscription box...of food! This particular box is actually their breakfast box, which contains packs of granola and porridge, but you can order various different types of box that all contain different bits.

Let's take a look inside...

This box (as every box is unique and packaged just for you) was actually filled with items that I had requested to be sent to me as they all really took my fancy. The more observant of you may have noticed that the sachets in this box are all granola, but thats's simply because I really don't like porridge so I asked for them not to send me any. Here we have:

-Strawberries and Cream- granola with strawberry and raspberry pieces, yoghurt coated pieces of strawberry, multigrain flakes and oats. This is my all time favourite of the breakfast packs that they send out and I love it alone just on natural probiotic yoghurt.

-Rugged Maple and Pecan Granola- maple granola with pecan nuts, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds and oats. This is one that I haven't actually tried before but I love maple syrup and hazelnuts so it sounds amazing!

-Honey Hunter- multigrain honey granola, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, almond slices and honey baked oats. I think this is quite possibly all of my favourite things piled into a pack of granola so I'm super excited to try this one.

-Dark Chocolate Orange Granola- chocolate orange granola, orange peel, dark chocolate, pumpkin seeds and almond slices. This is a mega treat for breakfast, it's sweet and indulgent but absolutely beautiful.

I'm so happy with this box, and I know that I'm going to adore everything in it! For £3.99, Graze boxes don't come cheap, however for a bit of a treat or just trying to mix up breakfast time with something a bit different every so often, they are so worth it.

My Lush Stash

Let's face it, everyone loves a bit of Lush, and I am certainly no exception. It's only when you put all of your things together like this that you realise just how much of something you own.

So here it is, my little Lush stash. Now it might not be as impressive as those belonging to the die-hard Lushies on Instagram, but I think it's not too shoddy. You may be surprised to notice my lack of bath bombs and bubble bars (note: the single carrot front and centre), but that is simply because I use them so quickly that they don't stick around for long! Some of the products in this little stash are my complete go-to products and nothing else will ever compare, but I adore everything here, so i figured that along the list I might throw in a little opinion of certain products too.

(Left to right:)

-Movis Face Soap- I use it every single day and it has completely changed my skin! Leaves me feeling clean, but soft and gives my face a good dose of Vitamin E.

-Snowman Shower Jelly- Best smell ever!!

-First Snow Sparkling Dusting Powder
-Carrot Soap

-Big Sea Salt Shampoo- Gives me volume, smells incredible and the coconut oil in it leaves my hair so soft.

-Eyes Right Mascara
-Chou Chou I Love You Toothy Tabs

-Rehab Shampoo- I always use this as a clarifying shampoo every few weeks to remove any product build up, and it leaves my hair so clean it's actually amazing. And it smells minty!

-Snow Fairy Shower Gel
-Jason and the Argon Oil Solid Shampoo Bar
-Let The Good Times Roll Face and Body Cleanser

-Prince Charming Shower Gel- A Valentines Limited Edition product that Lush bring back every year and is my favourite shower gel. So much so that I have to stock up on it, and it's amazing for washing your hair in. A great 2 in 1.

-The Kiss Lip Gloss
-Hot Toddy Shower Gel
-Gorgeous Face Moisturiser

-Daddy O Shampoo- What would I do without this shampoo? Literally, if I could only use one Lush product for the rest of my life, this would be it! The purple tones in it stop my blonde hair from looking brassy, but it's still fabulous for leaving my hair soft, clean, shiny and doesn't leave any residue on my hair. And it bubbles up purple!

-Volcano Foot Mask
-Bunch of Carrots Bubble Bar (although I only have one carrot left)
-So White Shower Gel
-Million Dollar Bionic Face Moisturiser

-Ponche Shower Gel- This is my current shower gel and I am loving it. Found it on the Lush Kitchen just before Christmas and I just had to grab a bottle. Orange and Cinnamon= incredible.

-The Kiss Lip Scrub
-Powdered Sunshine Powder Sunscreen
-Marilyn Hair Treatment

-King of Skin Body Butter- Everyone who fake tans needs this in their life! Super moisturising and as you use it while still in the shower, it's a super convenient way of giving your skin a good moisture boost.

-Silky Underwear Dusting Powder
-Strawberry Twin Tub Shower Jelly

What products have you been loving from Lush? I dare you to get them all together and look at how much you actually own, you might even surprise yourself- I did.

(I had to share this last picture with you as Boo decided that she wanted to be part of the action as she's a massive fan too.)
