May Through Instagram

Erm...where did May just go? Wtf? It's so scary how quickly this month (and this year tbh) has gone! However May has been a jam-packed month and I've been having a fabulous time, so I took to Instagram to put together some memories from this month!

(We're going to do this row by, left to right- we don't want to get all complex with funky pathways around the grid now do we?)

•May actually started with my Theatre Performance Exam, and what a fab day it was. Here's me and cast member Connor, before our first show of our two show day.

•A sneaky dressing room mirror selfie of me backstage on the opening night of the play I directed. Very exciting times!

•This was actually taken in the car on the way to see a brand new musical about the life of superstar Jackie Trent, called 'Javkie: The Jackie Trent Story'. We had a fantastic night and it was an amazing tribute to a very talented woman.

•Once again, we're loving the selfies. This was actually my recovery selfie after being ill for a week with flu. Bah-humbug.

•Tulips!! Because sometimes a girl just has to buy herself some flowers to brighten up her day. I saw these at the supermarket and they just looked so summery.

•A silhouette picture of me on a Bank Holiday Sunday night out! It was a night filled with sambucca, free sunglasses, cheesy pop music and then onion rings and naan bread. Definitely my kind of night!

•To round off the month we celebrated my friend Sarah's 30th birthday with a Great Gatsby themed birthday bash. My gorgeous bestie Natalie came up all the way from London to celebrate, and I'm genuinely so glad to have her in my life!

•A cheeky audience shot from our performance of Grease at college. This shot was taken just before we kicked off with Summer Nights, here you can see me, as Sandy, with the rest of the Pink Ladies.

•And lastly, yes another selfie, a cheeky snap of me again at Sarah's Gatsby party. Totally looking like the 1920s just threw up on me.

May, you were fabulous! Here's to an amazing fun-filled summer!! How was your month?

17 Thoughts You Have When You're Ill and Feeling Sorry Yourself

Well...our house has been filled with illness this week. First I had it- and by 'it', I mean, shivers, cold sweats, fever, sore throat, swollen glands, aching body, the whole shebang- and now I seem to have kindly passed it on to everyone else. There's nothing worse than feeling poorly. Does anyone else go through this whole process too, or is it just me?

1. Chocolate milk tastes wrong. Orange juice tastes wrong. Toast tastes wrong. Even water tastes wrong. FGS...here we go.

2. Ouch, my body hurts. No, my body really hurts. In fact I'm just going to stay lying here for a while.

3. Mum. Mum? Mummy?...Anyone? Help.

4. I need water and I need paracetamol and I need them now.

5. It's 4am. Why can't I sleep? Ouchy achey body.

6. Sleep. Awake. Toilet. Sleep. Awake. Water. (Repeat x6)

7. I can't do today, nope, I think I might actually be dying.

8. Thank you for the water, Mum. But why isn't it making me feel any better?

9. SEND ALL OF THE HELP!

10. Pancakes will make this better. Why are pancakes such a ball ache to make? I. Can't. Do. It...I'll just have a yoghurt.

11. Having a bath was such a good idea. I just want to stay here forever.

12. Don't fall asleep in the bath Sian.

13. It's okay for me to take the really comfy jumper out of the washing basket, isn't it? I am ill after all.

14. I'll feel so much better for having a good cleanse and getting my shit together. Actually, I might even go bare-faced today!

15. *catches own reflection in mirror* Oh god no...pass me the BB cream!

16. Will things ever be the same again? Will I always feel like this?

17. Just going to cuddle with my dog, watch re-runs of Geordie Shore, crawl under a rock and wait for all of this to blow over. Maybe someone will take enough pity on me to make me a nice tea...preferably covered in gravy.

Please tell me I'm not the only one?

How Much is My Face Worth?

I've never actually put any thought into how much money makeup actually costs. It's one of those things that I know is expensive but just feels so worth it. There's no better feeling that finding the perfect red lipstick or an eyeliner that makes cat flicks super easy but doesn't wander down your face. Makeup is quite possibly one of my favourite things!

I thought that I'd actually tot up exactly how much money I would need to spend to complete one face of make up. I mean it's all well and good having a jolly around Boots and picking up a few things, it's when it hits you that with only 4 things in your basket you've managed to gather over £30 worth of products. Oopsie.

So here is my unedited current face, yes, most of it is drugstore makeup so this isn't going to get scary expensive too quickly- but you'd be surprised. Let's have a look at how much it's actually set me back.

Base (Foundation, Concealer and Powder)- (£9 + £5.50 + £9)- £23.50
Contour palette- £10
Blush/Highlight- £11
Brows- £5
Eyeshadow- £38
Eyeliner- £7
Mascara- £10
Lip Balm- £4.50
Setting Spray- £21

Total....£130!!

Yes folks, that's £130 on one face of make up! And that's not including the money spent on brushes... *faints* Maybe it's time to start shopping my own stash and see what I can't use up before buying any more...

(Prices are rounded approximates however correct at time of post going up online)

Hello Stranger!

So...awkward pause...who are you again? Once again I have had a brief spell lost in the wilderness of a busy life and a severe lack of inspiration, however this has given me plenty of time to regroup (with myself) and think up some exciting content.

So watch this space! And I promise you that I have some very exciting photos from my recent appearance as Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, so you have that to look forward to!!

Babies, we are back in business!
